Jelang Final Liga Champions Liverpool Diyakini Bisa Atasi Spurs

Former Liverpool star Neil Mellor has supported the Reds to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League. He felt the players had the mentality and confidence to erase the disappointment of last year's final.

Jurgen Klopp's side lost the Premier League title this season. They are just one point adrift of Manchester City who won.

Despite having to return to fasting the league title since 1990, Liverpool still have a chance to win the title. They have penetrated the Champions League final.

This is the second time in a row Liverpool qualify for the Champions League final. Last season they were final but lost to Real Madrid.

Can Beat Spurs

Liverpool will face Tottenham in the Champions League final on June 2 at Wanda Metropolitano, Madrid, Spain. Mellor remains confident that Liverpool can beat Spurs in the final this season.

"Of course [I think Liverpool can beat Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid], fully confident [also]," Mellor told LFC TV.

"The performance against Barcelona was truly extraordinary, not championed, but confidence was there with the players.

"I think they have had this season's mentality after being beaten by Real Madrid in last year's final."

The most successful British club in Europe

Liverpool are the most successful English club in Europe. They have won the Champions League five times.

They can add to their collection to six if they can beat Spurs this year. The Reds last won the Champions League in 2005 after beating AC Milan.
